New Pants are among the brightest, original and most adventurous artists operating in China today. The band was formed in 1997. With their distinctive taste of retro, New Pants has been standing in the most forward position of the music, art and fashion fields in China for all these years. In their early days they were influenced by New-Wave and Old-school Punk especially the Ramones and New Order, but in recent years their sound and style has tended toward 80s disco and electro, which combined with their eye-catching stage presence, marks them as vibrant, original fish in the over-crowded pond of the Chinese music scene.

We Are All Lovers & Runners ‘则蕴含了流丽的80s New Wave气息而来。
New Wave Of New Wave风潮领导者姿态崛起的Elastica,而很多时候作品所蕴含的破坏爆裂能量相信已足以媲美曾几何时的一众Riot Girrrl乐团!!! 此外特别要提的是Go Chic对于舞池化Groove的精准掌握,成功地让粗犷不修边幅的Garage-Rock/Punk吉他音浪与跳脱的电子节拍推进共冶一炉,正好回应了她们官方英文Bio上第一句Slogan那开宗明义的宣告: “FUCK SAD SONGS AND SLOW JAMS, THIS IS GO CHIC!!!!!”
Go Chic is an dance/pop/punk/electro group which started in Taipei around 2007, current members are Sonia Lai, Ariel Zheng , Sarah Wen. This new band hit the scene with brightly colored tights and short shorts, laughing and joking with the crowd as they pumped out raw, catchy, dance-electro, coveted place as one of Nike’s 10 top Taiwanese bands for the company’s NIKE SPORTSWEAR NIGHT PARTY and has played SXSW Festival 2010. They’ve played with such notable acts as Peaches(CA), Vicarious Bliss(Ed Banger FR), Dandi Wind(CA), Shitdisco(Dim Mak UK), Death Is Not My Aim(JP), etc. And is currently active in Taiwan playing various festivals and venues.

The name “Neng Mao”was one tiny misspelling of Panda in Chinese, which I made in elementary school. It always reminds me how silly but sweet childhood is. Now I make this little creature to life, hope to recall the “Growing Happiness” among us all. China in the 80’s was a short, delicate and special era for us all, especially for the kids who were born during that period. nengmao is trying to follow the paths of the sweet memories of the past that we all shared: they might recall us of the old bicycles, the disco leggings, and the track suits that we’ve been wearing in school. I have always been interested in chinese culture between the 80-90’s, thus a lof of the design i made for nengmao has a trace of that time. Since 2007, the successful launching of the first nengmao store in shanghai, we are now also opened in Beijing, Chongqing, Chengdu, Taiyuan as well.
